Stereosonic, in logos
I won’t be going to Stereosonic. Not my thing, although I do like a lot of the producers/dj’s playing. No cobra snake photo for me :(
The designer of the poster had also created logos (some real, some not) for the dj’s on the bill. I picked out a 5 different ones and rated ‘em.
This is actually Crookers’ logo. I like it because it reminds me of all the pop...

Designing the tasteless →
Solid post from idsgn about branding something that is basically alcoholic water.
Bacon flavoured vodka sounds good, but what would you eat when you’re nursing a hangover induced by said vodka?
Also, a great review of typography (in logos) of the fashion world. I think good design really comes into it’s element when the objective is illustrating luxury and class.

It’s that time of year again. The nights are no longer bitter and cold. The sun is out and metros can comfortably strut the streets in ridiculously deep v-neck t-shirts. They may stop and admire the colourful poster on the street promoting the new annual. They might say ‘yeah i’ll buy that for sure’. And they probably will.
But how have times changed in the design world?...

I’ve slept on this one. This branding style is really gaining momentum at the moment; a simple black & white face without features, throwing back to 1920’s America & U.K town. The brands below range from live music venues to hairdressers, but the look and feel is quite similar. They say gentleman, not larrikin. It says wealth & a certain degree of power. Pictures after...

The forgotten blog
Before this blog there was a travel blog that I (sometimes) maintained when I was overseas last year. I travelled to North America, Mexico & Europe over the course of about 7 months. You can check it out if you feel inclined, but it’s very stream of conscious/tired backpacker writing. Half of the time I was just jotting down what I could remember of the (hazy) three or four days prior....
