roppongi hills, shinjuko revisit
i bought some japanese nikes today. my spending is officially lost all control. you wont get mugged, raped, murdered or even looked at the wrong way in tokyo, but you will spend every last yen that you can convert (it’s really hard to find atm’s)
Roppongi is shit both day and night, just less seedy in the day. nothing to do there, probably the least ‘japanese.’ last...
daikenyama
japanese people are either sleeping, or on their phones on the train. and never talking or eating- it makes the frankston line look 10x worse than it already is.
1950’s rock is the cool thing to play in shops/or jazz.
visited design festa gallery, and student exhibition space. kinda berlin and shabby, stands out like shit in tokyo, which has nothing dirty
Harajuko + Shibuya
Street wear to the gills, supreme, a life, beams you name it.
Most people actually know english, my bad.
i have never seen so many shoes-good shoes in my life, or daypacks.
nigerians are in Tokyo as well… they’re everywhere!
I think i like j pop, and k pop (google hyuna) for a few reasons.

Shinjuko
Busiest train station in the world, and for some reason i decided to go there at 9, instead of 11 when most shops open. foolish, but still a good day in shinjuko.
went to tokyu hands, ‘creative life store’, basically the biggest department store in the world, full of everything you can imagine. I saw a plush hat which was literally a pile of cartoon poo, next to a mask of barack...

These are all actually funny, done well, and that bit which makes people laugh nowdays-push that idea to the absolute limit. eg. ‘im on a horse’, when he eats the golf club etc… i’d buy old spice if they sold it here!

I’ve got crazy fast internet in my hostel, and I brought my lappy so i thought I might write a few observations on my first few days.
Cairns international terminal is a joke. but not a funny one. 4 hours felt like half my life.
Bikes ride pretty much wherever the hell they want to, and have these sweet little locks you can’t notice, as...

Flaunt: Designing effective, compelling and... →
Underconsideration (the dad blog of brand new) has released a publication called flaunt. “flaunt demystify’s the process” of putting together folios, something which scares the shit out of most designers. I will go out and say it’s prob worth the 15 clams for the hi rez pdf

Friday News
It’s been too hectic to blog the last few days, but slowly but surely I’ve been getting sh*t done, and my ‘to-do’ list has shortened dramatically. I’m currently slogging out this new design of Esperanto (everything from sourcing paper, to layout, to articles even a new logo). Getting quotes, breaking balls you know. Lettercult have finally released their top 10, hand...
