Planet of the Apes - Charlton Heston Laugh (by Dbartlet)

Has this been parodied yet? I just don’t even know.

Flat Eric & William Fichtner play some chess to promote Mr. Oizo’s forthcoming LP Stade 3.

Nike Runners Mexico - Auction (by dngrntt)

Another envious piece of digital real estate bought up by Nike.

Use Nike + accumulated kilometers to bid on shoes. It’s clever because looking at the km’s you’ve racked up on n+ feels like looking at your payslip sometimes, you’ve really worked for them, and it would be cool if they were worth something. (asides from running shoes)

There’s a bit of criticism hanging around that ‘Best Job’ ad for Procter & Gamble. I thought it was a beautiful spot, maybe a bit overdone, but if the goal was to talk directly to Mum’s, that’s what they did. Boom, challenge completed.
But, just before the ad culminates with the line ‘proud sponsor of Mum’s’ a bunch of other random logos flash up. It’s tricky to really sum up a multi-brand brand (there must be a better way to say that), and the Weiden boys kind of pulled it off. They’re saying being a mum is the best job in the world, but it’s hard, and with the help of our household products, you can pull it off and maybe your kid will be an olympian rather than a real estate agent.
But, there’s no way consumers/mum’s will remember or associate these sub-level brands with the mothership that is P&G.
But, look at how many brands they own! It doesn’t fucking matter about a touching tvc, you’ll buy something eventually!

It’s a good line: “Maybe the best ads are answers.” Positioning adwords as helpful rather than scarily targetted is a good move by Google. Also is this voiced by Jim?

GSP is the agency.

The final strike out from Eastbound. A glorious scene that sums up what Kenny is about, complete with rambo-esque suit up and the rainbow arabia‘d feel good montage. It’s crazy how many good lines the writers can fit into 2 minutes.

“I can use their rage and fucking harness it!”

The angry delivery of “OKAY!”

“Star players are a lot like Highlanders, there can only be one”

“The power from my son, and power from Ivan’s failure.”

“You’re fucking out!”

“As you watch this video for The Place restaurant in New York, you will swear there is a punch line coming at the end. You will wait for it. And wait for it. And wait for it. But, it will never come. So just wallow in this three minutes of cringe worthy, uber-cheesiness.” - adrants.

If you’re thinking of writing a script for a parody short take note. A good example is Tim & Eric, some of their funniest stuff is when they try to act and speak as ‘normal’ as possible.

There was a lot of Kony posters up in my neighbourhood on 4/20 (don’t you kids have better stuff to do)? I thought I’d have a go at it. What if the jews had a crazy proactive filmaker looking out for them?

Tonight’s episode of Mad Men was (masterfully) directed by Scott Hornbacher. Three interweaving plots, visual tricks for an acid trip and technically precise framing and colour compositions: see above.

IKEA Space for Rent (by InspirationRoom)

It’s a small idea, but it’s consistently integrated enough to really make a statement. If you peel back all the shiny digital ads it really is just a system of mailing out more coupons to spend instore right?

I asked my Mum if she liked it, she just look confused and said “doesn’t Ikea have enough money?” Yes they do, but why sit on your arse if you’re leading the pack. They’ve also been squeezing thousands of products into banner ads and integrating hi-fi into their furniture.

Great poets of the 21st Century.
very rough and frantic mockup. an idea on bringing together some of the finest lines to flow from the quibs of our great writers, poets and thinkers of the 21st century. This fiery piece of literature is from Sir S.K Gordy, famous in literary circles and known to occasionally perform his poems under the moniker LMFAO to protect his identity.
