Freelancing at Latitude Group this week! First bit of real industry experience, a bit out of my depth actually. I’m working on a book for Marmalade, that chronicles their work for Metlink.
Over some chewy sweet and sour pork, and a hectic bike ride home, I had some time to think about the graduate show at my University.
I remember in 2007, the year I finished high school, I checked out the same show. I was bowled over. Maybe it was the fact that I knew largely nothing about contemporary design, or that there were hotshots like tom and woodhead really going for the jugular.
This year wasn’t like that. Great work, just nothing that just blew my mind.
The honours guys were killing it as usual, lot’s of photography work, big speaking posters, less type stuff and ‘Bello’ got used a lot …
I might go back with a camera.
Before this blog there was a travel blog that I (sometimes) maintained when I was overseas last year. I travelled to North America, Mexico & Europe over the course of about 7 months. You can check it out if you feel inclined, but it’s very stream of conscious/tired backpacker writing. Half of the time I was just jotting down what I could remember of the (hazy) three or four days prior. There’s not too many photos because I usually would post them to my facebook, but here’s a few I pulled out.

A few photos from the flat in Prahran. Really close to finishing the semester, and it feels damn good.
