Another hit by Olly that I haven’t seen. My only thought: cut out all the credits, sit the logo on black by itself, and maybe remove the tagline, but then again maybe not.

Hobo with a shotgun designed by the dude.
Edit: The more I look at this poster, the more I dislike it, the illustration is alright, but there seems to be this choppy photoshop effect (emboss?) on everything, and he’s done a bit of a mess cutting out some of the characters..I’m not sold on the font either, it’s Koloss, a 20’s deco face and I don’t think it works as well as Aachen, used in Machete.

The fact is, any film with the tagline ‘delivering justice one shell at a time’ is a film I’d like to see, no matter what the poster looks like.

Haven’t seen the film but i like the poster, and that’s often a good sign.

Mexican Metal: Letterpress posters advertising Lucha Libre fights in Mexico City. Never go around to seeing a fight but I saw these and wall painted signs all around the city looking like this. As Hans Gremmen says ‘this natural way of composing and printing creates a series of posters that could not be designed better.’

I haven’t been posting final work here for a long while now, kinda saving it all for my end of year folio, but here’s a little lo rez of my Richard Pratt “Shred Everything” poster due in tommorow. I’m really happy with how it’s turned out for a few reasons. 1. I knew from the start what I wanted to make. 2. I had enough time to execute it (lazer cut stencil, get enough materials and time to do the shoot), 3. The print went well (always a nice surprise).
Keep tuned for a proper ‘designer holding a poster’ photo on my cargo.
